Electric Problem -- BINGO! What is this thing?
Traced it to the ACC / CRTSY / Clock circuit.
I thought it was the those Door Ajar switches as they are a complete mess. It wasn't, but I'm now skilled at interior removal. The light in the rear center console is gone and the wires are taped up.
I pulled the wires feeding a little silver box in the rear compartment on the passengers side & no more draw.
What is this thing? Alarm system relay? Can a leave it disconnected? I think this was the "bong" noise that I described in a recent post. Any help appreciated...

I'm not positive but I think that may be your intermittent wiper control (at least thats the case on the later sharks like my 80). Mine is missing, but I remember reading that it was located behind the passenger compartment. Check to see if you have intermittent wiper function.

Jim

Don't think I have intermittent wipers -- if I do they're broke! Looks to be wired into the door ajar buttons, which makes me think its alarm related...

This diagram (high-resolution) is for my 1979 but might provide a hint.

Thanks for the diagram -- nice book. Is that the Assembly Instruction Manual? I hope so as I just ordered one!

If a pink, white & black wire went to it, it is the anti-theft relay. If a yellow wire with two white wires are coming from it, it is the anti-theft flasher. :yesnod:

Yellow & 2 Whites. Anti-theft flasher is now disconnected.
Any harm in just pulling the plug off?
Your the man, Paul.

No, I would'nt think it would. I believe this is what interrupts constant voltage going to the alarm horn to make it "beep" intermittenly(sp?).

Well, my alarm has never went off so I'll assume its broke somewhere else too. Once I get my power steering back together, I'll get the car off the jack stands and start it up. Hopefully my horn won't go off continuously.
Once I get the power steering & electrical draw licked, the fun begins with...
1. Speed Demon 750 vs
2. Lars HEI Curve Kit
Thanks for the help again...
