Here's a question that I've never thought of: what happens to a Corvette's figerglass body if it unfortunately gets caught in a hailstorm? Will the fiberglass just crack, or will it shatter/break?

It would depend on the situation. In most cases, probably nothing would happen to your car in the event of a hail storm. Remember, fiberglass is often stronger than steel.

I was caught in a pretty bad summer hail storm in the late 70s in a 63 vert with a hard top. I would say 3/4" in size. The only damage I could ever find were a few "stars" in the back window.

If your worried about what the weather is going to do to your car while its parked outside, get a beater... Get the vette when you can afford a garage.

Maybe its because I have been at work for 15 hours but aren't some of your questions getting a bit ridiculous.

I fyou are worried about weather doing damage to you car, rent a garage space for the winter.

Can you not picture what Hail can do to your car? Its not a hard picture to paint yourself......Small hail, no damage......Big hail, big damage.....Just like any other car you are going to have parked in that hail storm.

If you are that worried about your car being out in the weather, what about vandals, and thiefs.

i have been in 2 hail storms at the NCM in bowling green with my 97 and my 99,and not a mark. they get some good storms there because you see a lot of steel body cars that look like some one took a ball peen hammer to them
