Felpro instructions say not to put sealer on the seal ends. Put sealer on the cap only. My local parts house consultants who have all worked as mechanics and built many engines say they have always put sealer on the seal ends. Could use some advice!

My advice is to follow the Felpro instructions. I did and used sealer on the main cap but not on the seal ends. A special kind of metal to metal flange sealer is recomended. Sorry I cant remember exactly what type of sealer I used. It was not one of the common ones.

thanks for the advice. I too decided to go with the felpro instructions. They even go as far as to bold the part where it says not to put sealer on the seal ends. My vette and Haynes manuals also say to avoid sealer on the ends. The felpro recommends and anaerobic sealer, so thats what I'm using. Thanks again.
