Default Need quick help on Rearend and offset TA installation *beware* stupid questions inside

OK, I've gotten my rear from Van Steel (3:70's :) :) :) :) :) ) with some offset trailing arms, as well, for my 1980.

1. The TA's have a couple of places marked on the discs stating 'Align'. Does this have to do with alignment of TA's at front mounting spot where shims go?

2. What brand of gear oil should I install? It is already prelubed with a grease of some kind and Art stated it would be prelubed with the secret sauce from GM... it kind of resembles white lithium grease. Is this it? Or am I off in space?

3. Gasket for my rearend cover... I was going to use form-a-gasket. Is that OK?

Thanks, in advance, for your answers. Be kind to me in your replies. :)

There are no stupid questions just stupid answers :D:D
So here goes...

1. I think 'align' is for when they assemble the trailing arm, not for you...

2. I use Mobil 1 gear oil with chevy posi additive.

3. I used a cork gasket and lots of sealant. I don't know If I'd go gasketless

YES, they are saying the trailing arms need to be a Aligned by a shop. This must be done. Install & get a 4 wh. Alignment.

You'll get a lot of opinions on that here. My impression is that whatever the purists say, any high quality product will work just fine. Any MAN is the GM stuff overpriced.
