My lock actuators are missing in action. New repros are about $40.00 each, way to much $$$. I remember someone saying they were able to install aftermarket actuators that cost about $10.00 each. Just curious if anyone has done this and what success you had?

Jim, got your email. I bought the actuators at a local car stereo store. They are used for adding power-locks to cars that didn't have them already, or for use with an alarm. I don't know the part number, but there are several manufactures of these. They are cheap, and they come with the rods in my picture. My car didn't have power locks, so I custom wired them to work only with the alarm I also installed. I am not familiar with the factory wiring for locks, so wether or not it will be an easy instal, I don't know. If the factory used a two-wire actuator, then is sould be pretty painless, as the aftermarket actuators are two wire units.

That's what I used on my 72. (car stereo shop ones). I put them on when I did the car alarm. Makes a nice Keyless entry.
