Electrical Problem... Makin' progress & need help
OK.
The draw is coming from the Clock / Lighter / Courtesy circuit.
The clock has been dead since I got the car.
The lighter has been dead since I got the car.
The courtesy lights do work. So my gut is telling me its somewhere down that line. I took a look at the schematic and have some questions...
What is the "W/S/W DR SOL." and where is it?
What is the "W/S/W DR RELAY" and where is it?
What is the "W/S/W DR SW" and where is it?
Any starting points would be greatly appreciated. The more the specific the better. I'm pretty dumb...
Thanks in advance,
Jack

im not sure what those mean...but dont rule out the lighter and clock. Just cuz something doesnt work, doesnt mean it is not drawing current. My alarm system for example. It didnt work, but was drawing 1 full amp. I found out when I hooked up a battery charger and heard the 60 cycle hum in the alarm relay. Disconnected the relay, draw went away.

Hmmm. So why does Lectric Limited have it on their wiring diagram for a 74?
Can't even get a good schematic, let alone a starting point.
Is there a harness connection somewhere around the door jam for the rear of the interior? I'd like to break it there to isolate the rear compartment light, which seems funky.
Man, put the word "carb" in your title and you get 100s of responses, I wish people responded the same to "Electrical" ! :nopity

Unplug the accesories one at a time to see if the draw continues. Wiring diagrams might be made to cover a number of model years. That could explain why it list circuts that are not associated with your year car. Just like the carb rebuild kits that always have parts left over.

Not too sure because the wiring on my 72 was like spaghetti but the w/s/w/ relay on my car is in the center console under the ashtray(5 wires). The w/s/w/ sw is the on/off switch I believe. I'll need to get my diagrams out of the garage to awnser more...
