i knew when mine was built but also happen to have a build sheet i found underneath when i 1st got my car. it's a little discolored since it was next to the muffler.

no celebrating here, about 8 invches of snow the last 2 days. i think we'll get together when it warms up, i'll go out to the garage and take the cover off, and then celebrate.

Look on the metal tag inside driver's door. It has exterior paint and interior color codes as well as build date. Not certain on this, but as I recall, the month is indicated by a letter, and the first month of year build is Usually August. I know my '81 was built on August 13, 1980 in St. Louis plant. Can't remember if August was an 'A' or not, but sure another forum member can tell you for sure, also believe the 'Corvette Blackbook' has this information.

PyjamaSam,
You can get the build date and a lot of other info about your car if yo get a "restoration package" from GM Vintage Canada... I got one and it gave me all of the RPO's for MY car as well as some production stats etc. ... It cost me about CND$ 50.00 plus PST&GST... But I like it and it makes a good convesation piece/source of info about the car... If you're interested call +1.888.467.6853 and have your VIN and VISA handy...
