Rituals of Spring-The Corvette Comes Out
You people in the Southern USA can ignore this. But at the moment it is 10F and 6" of snow is coming down. For those of us who wait for April - and the Corvette has been in hibernation for five months - what is your spring ritual? It is a bit like the old Heinz Ketchup commercial: Anticipation. My 1979 is in heated commercial storage and I do not see it for those five months. Mine is check fluids, fire up, listen to the symphony in C (Beethoven's Eighth), test the brakes to get rust off, lubricate the temp sensor electrical connection with di-electric grease (it never works well in the spring), take off the t-tops, turn on the heater, plug in Irene Cara's "What a Feeling" and Goooooooo. The local police are very tolerant of strange folks with t-tops off at 45F.
Must be the snow tonight. I have visiting rights at the storage area. May go tomorrow.

I'm glad we don't get too severe winters down here. I at least get to drive it once a month if not a little more often. It also stays in a semi-heated garage (50) but gets moved whenever the apartment attached to that garage gets rented. I think I've moved it 4 times since December. But at least I have a garage to keep it in. If all available apartments get rented, then the vette stays in my garage until an apartment comes available again. Just means I have to scrape the windows on my car sometimes. Just thought I'd share.

I am very depressed. It was 70 today and I am at school. I called my mom and told her to tell the vette that I loved it. :) :)

I drove mine Christmas day and last Sunday.
My ritual is putting the battery in and starting her up :D

Read it and weep:
Northern California... There were Corvettes everywhere today.... too many to count. Too much sunshine. You got to love it in January. Sorry couldn't resist.

i've never really put mine away this winter. we've had 2 snow dustings,1 layer of ice,and in just the last 2 days missed the biggy that dropped all kinds of snow north of here,we had icy trees and cables, but the ground got so warm last week that the ice didn't freeze on the streets when the storm hit 2 days ago, which means no salt on the street = i'll still drive it once or twice a week til streets are a salty mess. then i'll put it away. spring's coming!!
