Who makes a high temp cast iron paint?
I've looked at Eastwoods and most of the 'vette catalogs and I have not been able to find anyone that makes the stuff in a spray can. Eastwoods has a paint on manifold dressing, that you have to cure by running them on the engine, that's not what I'm looking for. I could have sworn that everybody was selling a high temp cast iron paint a few years ago.
I thought about checking with Techline coatings, but their stuff requires baking at 500 degrees to cure. Anyone have any sources that I've missed?

Thanks Steve, I ought to kick myself, I knew about their paint, but was just thinking about the black stuff! I ordered a pint about 5 minutes ago, of course it'll be a week before I see the stuff. I sure wish they had a distribution network, I'd like to go into a store and just pick the stuff up when I need it.

I hope you won't be dissappointed Steve, but I've used the POR-15 on my ram horns over a year ago. It's great stuff but still needs to cure by runnning the engine for about 10-15min. Directions stated to paint the manifold, wait 24hr and then cure.
It's great stuff though. I'm using the manifold grey. I did have some coolant splash on the drivers side manifold and this left some "white" stains. I touched the area up again and you can't tell the difference, it blends well.
I usually get my order from them in 2 days too!

Re: Who makes a high temp cast iron paint? (1970 Stingray)
I tried the gray POR exhaust manifold coating on my BB manifolds and was very dissapointed. I wanted this stuff to last so I took extra care and followed the application instructions to the letter. They looked great at first, but started flaking after a couple of months. The manifolds had significant rust showing after only a year. I've have hi-temp spray paint last longer! Now I have to pull them off again to refinish (won't be POR). I've heard good things about the Eastwood stuff, I might give that a try.

I've refinished cast iron manifolds by bead blasting them, washing them down with acetone (do not touch the surface with your fingers after prep'ing them!), then using Eastwood's manifold paint (following the curing instructions, except I bake them in an oven before I put them back on the car) and have always had good results.
