I can't believe someone actually thought that product up. Is that stuff safe to run through an engine? I'd rather spend some money on octane boost (which I'm sure to do once I get the big block in).

Don't kill me for saying this one guys, but I don't think it's THAT bad of an idea.
Truthfully, my Dad (old time car guy), turned me on to Marvel Mystery Oil for one reason -- add a little to your gas tank and your exhaust smells like cinnamon.
Seriously -- I've had quite a few complements. Drop 1/4 bottle into your gas tank and a little into your oil. Fire up the car and it smells really good. Much better than that burning gas fuel smell. I use it in all my cars now.

Seriously guys -- you should try it. I actually like the smell of gas as well, but this is really an interesting odor. It still smells like gas with a hint of fragrance.
Golden90 - what kind of Mustang is that? I have a 65 I6 that I'm restoring right now...

Got to admit, I lauged my socks off when I saw that stuff. But then I got to thinking "Hell, them old Bike riders run Castrol R to get that lovely smelling exhaust", so I might give it a go...... just waiting for them to come up with a Toasted Bacon Sandwich And Strong Coffee aroma before I get some :jester

We sell this stuff... And yes I have used it... The rootbeer flavor actually smells pretty good, Blueberry is pretty strong. Some of flavors you can't even notice.
It was originally intended for guys running alcohol, to eliminate the odor and help with the burning of the eyes (which it does help). It is in no way an octane booster, all it does it give your exhaust/fuel an aroma.

I actually like the smell of my car's exhaust (sounds strange huh?). I don't know what it is, but sitting at a stop light and wofting those exhaust fuems from the side pipes is a pleasant smell (IMO).

That's a really, really nice Stang. If it's mint like you say, it's probably worth more than your Vette, too :)
I have to admit -- I have a place in my heart for the '64.5 - '66 cars. Don't really care for them much after that (I can tolerate the later 60's but that's about it).
The car I'm doing is a total basket case, so I'm getting to learn suspension, electical, paint and body work with mine. I'm going to try painting it myself (just bought all the equipment). If that goes well I'm going to tackle the vette.
I think every junior guy on this forum (or anyone) who wants to play aroung with old cars should start with a '65 musting. They are classics, they are plentiful, and you can pick up a decent one for cheap. Plus, parts are SO cheap for those cars it blows me away. If parts for the C3's were as cheap as 65 mustang parts, man-oh-MAN what I would do! You can re-do the ENTIRE interior of one of these cars for the cost of new seat covers for a Stingray. It's crazy. I'm learning a lot that's going to make me confident to tackle bigger jobs on my '73.
And (to keep this on topic), the exhaust smells really nice with Marvel Mystery Oil. :bs
