Default VIN Decoding Help

I'm getting ready to pull my engine out to have it rebuilt when I started looking at the code on the front of the block. I'm confused. The first set of numbers matched my VIN perfectly but the last set V1106CHA is slightly faded. I thought for sure it was a CUA but now that I look at it its definitly a CHA. I can't find CHA anywhere in my manuals. Why would someone go to the trouble of stamping the right VIN on the motor but screw up the suffix code?? If its not the original motor I'd rather save a lot of money and buy a crate rather then rebuild mine. Any thoughts would help. Even though its just a 75 if its the original motor I'd like to keep it that way if not why bother.

They used CHA in 75 for the 165hp 350 CID with a manual tranny. Check your date codes to be sure but it sounds possibly correct to me.

Thanks I couldn't find CHA in any of my books. Where's the date code?
