What type of Paint for Tire Wells?
I need to paint the inside of my tire wells. I got some overspray on the inside of the tire wells when I did the paint job. What type and kind of paint is good for this. I was thinking about a flat black and just brushing it on. What does everybody think?

Paul,
I'm going to do this, myself in the near future. I am planning to spray the wheel wells with a rubberized undercoating material. It has a brownish color when it goes on, but turns flat black when it dries.

Rubberized undercoat is probably a good idea as it will absorb shock from flying objects that get kicked up from your tires and protect your new paint.

Since my plans are for a custom show car , I've thought about having one of the hard/rubberized bedliners applied to the wheel wheels. I think that stuff would hold up well and allow for a large choice of finishes and/or colors. :D

I went with POR and am very pleased with the results. You can go to my website for detailed pics and see if this would be to your liking. Always easier to look at someone elses trial and error first.

I sprayed my rear wheel wells with 3m rubberized undercoating about a month ago. It looks good and I heard it holds up really good from a friend who used it on his car a while ago. Its pretty cheap too. I'm going to do the front wheel wells over spring break. (Unless someone wants to send me on an all expenses paid trip to somewhere nice!!!)

I did mine with rubberized undercoating when I had the body tipped upside down. :D It has a year of driving on it and it held up very well. I am going with Vettfixr's tip on gluing some foam rubber kitchen mat on the inside of the wheel well to protect from rocks flying up, then putting the rubberized undercoating over that. Soon as I get the interior done and the windshield in, that's the next and almost last item on the list for this year. :D :D
