What's the maximum that you can overbore a BB 402
I know there was a post on this but I cannot find it. the measurement between the middle cylinders is .320 This engine is a "spare" that I'm thinking of rebuilding. when I have more time.

A 402 is a factory bored 396(72 chevelle), sometimes gm called the 396s or 400s , which can be confusing. I was wondering if it could be bored to 4.250 (427) .

No, there were no 402s that I know of that had wall thickness for a 4.25" bore. Only early 396s go there...
