Congrat's Gordon! Your times seem to get progressively better and better. You must be one heck of a driver!

*Edit*
Gordon, I just noticed that they let you run with your trim rings and beauty caps on your rims. Is this true? Last time I went to my track they made me take everything off of my rims.

Pat you are quick with the posting. I had to watch the Eagles lose. Atco is not very strict with there rules like Etown is. Sometimes I have been asked to remove the rings other times they don't say anything. They have never bothered me about running the ragtop vs the hardtop. I just keep running until they say something.
No real tricks just practice. Pat did not mention the 13.6 I had. Almost stalled off the line and did not recover until I hit second gear. I still ran 106 mph. The track was hooking good. I had a 1.93 on the good run and a 2.2 on the bad run. I came out of the hole a lot harder on the 12.70 run and it stuck good. I'm really liking the 3.70 gears so far. I had some wheel hop when it hooks. I'd like to try to get rid of that. Good day overall. (nothing broken either)

You will get it all figured out. It is just frustrating when things do not work. Been there many times. Incidently my transmission was not shifting into 4th very well. Seems like it will have to come out and apart again. 3rd gear last year now 4th this year.

Gordon nice times!!!!!

Wanna buy some Hoosier slicks to get those times down even more ;)

So was it just the rear gear change that has made you quicker?

Imagine how much quicker you'd go with a 1.6 60' :reddevil

Imagine how many more parts I can break. My only change has been the gears and the weather. I do have a Victor Jr. that I just got and I'm goingto give it a try.

Gordon, Was Sunday your first try with the new gears without the hardtop? Just wondering if the weight makes a noticeable difference...

If you want to pick up a spare red 72 LT1 vert, there is one on ebay now! Red interior, tho.. :) MJ

Sunday was the second time I ran with the gears. I did not have the hardtop on and I left the spare tire and tub out after doing the rear. I figure I lightened the car by about 100 to 120 pounds. That should be good for about a 1/10of a second. The car just seems to hook better wit hthe 3.70 gears. The 4.11 gear wanted to spin the tires more. I'm still learning with these gears so I hope to get into the mid 12s with the manifold and better driving. 1.93 60 foot time is not bad with street tires.

Gordonm,
Great time and mph. You sure have improved in the last 6 months. I wish I could run the mph. What do you think will help your wheel hop. If you cant control it you could tear the drive train apart. I had a major wheel hop situation with my 74 untill I changed the shocks and the spring. I have only run at the track once since I make these changes, but I did not get any hop. I did notice that the rear did not squat as much with the new spring an shocks.I wonder if the angle of the universals when the cars squats will cause the hop? Congratualtions again.
Ed
