Default Air/Fuel Ratio Monitor Suggestions

Recently bought the Edelbrock A/F Ratio montior with O2 sensor. After looking at the large rectangular block digital gauge, I realized I have no where to mount it where it wont look bubba.

I see where K&N sells a sensor and 2" gauge that might work better. My idea was to place the gauge in the hole where the clock is on my 69. Not exactly NCRS but would be highly functional.

I am looking for advise on which A/F ration monitor to get and how you guys may have mounted the O2 sensor and gauge.

OH just in case anyone ever wanted to mount the MSD adustable timing control ****. The entire assembly mounted in the ashtray of my 69 and covers up nicely when the tray cover is closed. Okay I am bubba  .Thanks in advance.

I lean toward the AutoMeter A/F gauge and have mine in place of the clock.

I was going to suggest the Edelbrock meter could be in the ashtray, and the timing control underneath at the steering column support.

Not at this time. The Autometer fits perfectly in the existing hole. Matter of fact, I replaced all the other gauges with Autometer too.

Black face, black rim, red needles. Gas-water temp-oil pressure-and voltmeter instead of ammmeter. Matches the speedo and tach real well.

I did the same, with my AutoMeter A/F. I'll get pictures this weekend if I remember at the race tomorrow.

I have the Ultralite A/F guage installed in my '76, and I think it's great. You can see pics of my less-than-professional looking yet fully functional install at http://ese.dwdata.com/rob I think it's one of the engine*.jpg pictures.

Sorry, I've been out of it due to laryngitis last week that I think is turning into something worse. A lot of my friends are coming down with walking pneumonia, and I think I'm going that way...I'm off to go research it online. I'll try to get in touch with my friend with the camera. :smash:

I have a Summit brand gauge. They sell for $28 and are the 2" (or 2 1/16") so I think that it will fit in place of any gauge. This gauge is basically the Nordskog (or Cyberdyne or Initellitronix) and has 10 leds (RRYYGGYYRR).

I am currently having problems with my O2 sensor, but I plan on putting it in place of the clock. After I'm done tuning, I plan on putting my clock back in if I can get it working, but I may just end up leaving the AF gauge.

I also considered the Autometer gauge ($50 - $60) which has 20 leds, but price was a big issue so I went as cheap as possible. I also don't believe that the sensors are accurate enough to make use of the extra granualarity the Autometer gauge gives. The electronics in the led based gauges are all basically the same, so I don't see how one could be more accurate than the other (the accuracy or lack there of lies in the sensor).

If you want to see a selection of AF gauges, go to http://www.summitracing.com and perform a keyword search on "air fuel gauge". Lastly, Nordskog has another gauge that Summit doesn't seem to carry. It is an analog type. You can check it out at http://www.nordskogperformance.com/airfuel.html
