Default Weiand or Edelbrock?

I am going to upgrade my stock intake on my 72. The car is pretty much stock except for headers and a set of flow masters. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the weiand stealth manifold or the edelbrock performer or performer rpm? Hood clearance is not a problem(L-88 hood) I am just loooking for some added power. Thanks in advance

I have the RPM/AIRGAP....love it.
I have had performers in the past...they also were great.
here is a pic of mine http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/ylo...nerebuild2.jpg
I know some guys run the WEIAND and like them too, but I have no hands
on with those intakes.

I run the performer, but if the rpm or rpm air gap will fit I would go that route. :D

You can't go wrong with either. The HP difference will be negligable between those two intakes. With that said, I'd go with the Weiand.

Weiand Stealth, not the renamed Action Plus manifold.

dman535. I have the same set up on the "L383". Everything works super. Even glad i went with the Edelbrock carb instead of the Holley 750dbl pump. JCL   :chevy "Sidepipes are the way"

Weiand "Action Plus" works for me.....$15-20 cheaper than any other around here....Pleez tell me why a "Stealth" is better as I am confused...

I would say go with an Air-Gap Performer. You still get the good low end throttle responce. And there are ways to keep the air-gap manifold cooler, keeping your intake chage cooler and adding HP. just my 2 cents

You would be fine w/ non egr intake like Performer 2101, Weiand Stealth or Action +. Go w/ RPM since hood clearance is no problem.

What it probably really needs is another cam.
Needed for cam - which engine, trans. & rear gears.

Went with the stealth for hood clearance problems. Both the Stealth and Edl RPM will rev nicely past 6K. Here's a pic for you to ponder over, hope you like it.

TNT
The Stealth has a larger plenum and runner volume. Great for higher horsepower combos. The 8004 Action + has smaller plenum & runners which is good for low end. I've read good things about the 8004 manifold. I think it matches you upgrades well. Now go do the heads and change your forum name to "BOOM76vette" :D

I'm a Holley/Weiand guy myself. I vote Stealth.

But, like other people have said, you probably won't notice much of a performance difference between the two. It pretty much boils down to which logo you like better.
