Default What is the best shock for a smooth ride on my 82 Vette????

I was looking at the Monroe Sensatracs, or the KYBs. There are a few KYB shocks, which one is best? anyone had experience with Sensatracs? how about Gabriel Shock? AC DELCO??

Please let me know.

Thanks

I use the Monroe Sensatracs on my 82 and it rides really well. It performs well cornering and doesn't shake you to death on the bumps. I added a rear stabilizer bar to mine with adjustable links that that made a major difference in the performance handling department. You might give that some thought. You would think that a vette would come with a rear stabilzer, but most don't.

I think I might go with the sensatracs then, but keep the opinions coming.

Thanks,

: this summer are replaced my orginal shocks on my 1980 and went with the Monroe sensatrac, they are very good replacement shocks, better then the delcos. I only user the car for cruise nights and shows and it was the best replacement for the money. I thought about the kyb but I am not racing the car or anything like that so I felt i was not worth the money to jsut go crusing in

Replaced the originals on my 82 at 57K miles, 4-1/2 years ago with Monroe Gasmatics. Now 100K miles later, still in good shape. Nice ride. Do not know about Sensatracs. Gasmatics were best Monroes back then, I think.

You put 100K miles on your 82 in the last 4 1/2 years?

I put Gabriels on the '79 a couple of months ago....High-jackers on the front and air-shocks on the back....this plus lowering the front end and going to 17inch wheels and Michelin tires...made a BIG difference in the handling.

Yes, drive about 21K miles per year commuting. The 82 is really reliable, if not fast.
