Default Help in viewing pictures

Can anyone tell me what I am doing that I cannot see certain pictures uploaded by some members? I see a little icon in the corner but no pics.
Also I just tried to add a picture to my signature and would like to know if anyone can see it. Thanks for your assistance.

Yup,

I am having the same trouble. Been this way for the last several days. I have reset "the cookies", checked my forum settings to allow pictures, etc. etc. etc. All I am getting is the picture placeholder and the red X in the corner of it. Administrators; Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

you are typing the url wrong where your picture is...
http://temp/corvetteforum.net/c3/stingray/pbooth.jpg

you see the extra / in the above after temp ? make that a period !

like this
http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/stingray/pbooth.jpg

but I still dont see the picture at that url...are you sure the name.jpg is right?
:D

If you look back thru old post sometimes you won't see the pics, just the little red x. That's because pictures have probally been removed from the server. I clean up the pics I have on the server sometimes, so If you go look at an old post the pics won't be there.

Thanks Smokehouse, I must say the same for yours. I always have liked the chrome bumper years.

Paul75, I understand what you are saying about the old posts and pictures. My problem is that I can't see any of the new pictures, i.e. your in your post. Also I can't see the icons for any of the little smiley faces, or even the pics for the reply to post and such. Not sure what the deal is as I always have been except for the last few days. Any ideas?

I removed the / and replaced it with a period. It still does not display. Maybe this will help: I placed the photo in a folder on my computer, then went to my signature profile and added the url as displayed above. Do I have to place this photo file somewhere else on the web instead of residing on my computer? Thanks for you help. Bob

looking at the properties of the pic in your signature, it's still a / after "temp" and not a .
