Lookin good pats406nitrovette and Stingy74. Both those colors are awesome, plus they match your cars. I planning on painting my engine soon, but not the color of my car. Wouldn't look to good I don't think. Ever see a beige engine? :U

Me and a guy had good luck using a urethane base red and then clear laquer on his Accell/SuperRam base intake. All that heat and it never chipped or cracked or peeled or anything. I had a guy tell me once to paint the engine with header paint first and then spray whatever the hell you want on it.

Pat, Stingy

Very Cool!!! That's some very cool custom work.

Stingy, did you sand your block down and smooth it out before painting? It looks like you did a lot of prep work. If so, how did you prep the block?

When I got it back from the machine shop it was half orange, half yellow and partially bare in some area's. He jet washed the block, hence all the other colors. I used a scotch brite pad to get everything rough and sanded and they I sprayed the whole thing down with brake cleaner to insure an excellent adhesion. I heated the block to a good temperature with my heat gun and begin in very lights coats, followed by a little heat. Or course, I set old heads on the block so I didn't get paint on the deck on in the cylinders. Lot's of 3/M two inch taped got used when covering the timing cover etc....
