How Do You Wash Your Vette?
I've seen so many different ways guys wash their prize. How do you do it? What type of soap, rags, technique, ETC?? I wash all my vehicles the same way. I complete one section at a time. Starting with the roof and windows, then hood, then one fender at a time, rear quarter last. I use a dash of mild dish soap in a bucket, and after wetting down a section at a time with an aerated nozel on the hose, I soap it up. Then I rinse... and dry with a soft cotton towel. The aerated nozzel allows me to pinpoint the low pressure soft stream of water, keeping it off of the section already done.

One of my dad's old hunting buddies sells this awesome car wash soap to car dealerships down here. That is the stuff I use. I was my car in sections keeping the whole car wet until it is all done. I wash the roof and windows, hood, rear deck and back, right side, and then the left side. I rewet the car after each section in washed and when I finish them all I use a chamois cloth to dry it all down. This soap I use seems to be so good when I wash my car everyone thinks it has just been waxed.

I don't use dish soap. I have heard that it takes the wax off your car, like greese off a pan! I use the same technique. Only I start with the front bumper (to get the bugs off, because thats the hardest part) Then do the hood, roof, right front fender, right door, right rear quarter, rear bumper, left rear quarter, left door, left front fender, then the wheels and tires.

Correct, dish soap (like Dawn) will strip polishes and some waxes.
I use Zaino car wash.
I wash all my cars the same way. passenger door, roof, rear quarter, rear, driver rear quarter, driver door, driver fender, hood, passenger front fender. I always try to do the hood last so that the water spots don't form there.
Then I take a leaf blower (ya that's right, an electric leaf blower) and blow off most of the water. With a good coat of zaino, that water blows off so easy, you wouldn't believe it. It also gets the water out of all those places that tend to drip onto the places you just dried, the first time you move the car.
Then I go over it with a clean towel.
Man, you use Simple Green? That can't be good for paint.

I wash my tires first, with a seperate bucket and soap. Then in a seperate bucket with car soap I wash from the top down. After washing, I towell dry the car.
