How do I find my 79's roots?
She has the L-82 badge and the power to back it up, but the previous owner did do some engine work and I want to find out if she still is what she claims to be. Where do I go about checking to be sure I have an actual L-82 motor and does the VIN provide insight to what the car originally came with?

Check the build sheet, should be attached to the top of the gas tank if you're so lucky. I've been told you can reach up with your arm and grab it.
Also, there are ways to decode VINs, but I'm not too familiar with it. :)

Well after digging a bit, I found a site for Vette VINs http://www.vettesite.com/vin.asp
