Default Ive got some fiberglass questions for you guys

On my '68 there is some fiberglass damage. The fiberglass around the antenna is chipped away and the antenna is very loose. There is also a long 1/4 of an inch gash on the LF quarter panel. How or where can I get this fixed? Please Help!!!!!!!!!

If you want to do it yourself, Ecklers has a great video and/or there is some great repair guides at: http://www.glas-ra.com/

Any reputable body shop should be able to do it. Just make sure they glass the antenna hole from the top and bottom. There's more than enough help on the forum if you want to tackle it yourself. :D

No....I think I'll have someone who knows what their doing do it for me. Of course, I have to get the car on the road again. It's been sitting in a garage for 13 years which probably hasen't helped the fiberglass.

Also, the car had a luggage rack but it was taken off. Should I worry about the rear deck cracking?

Do it yourself! Save the money for go-fast goodies. Fixing cracks and such is not difficult. The toughest part is painting afterwards! Esp. if you're not painting a whole panel, it has to blend. But the body work, the stuff you need is actually available with a trip to autozone. You should probably fix the crack, prep it for paint, and then have a paint guy do it (A DIY'er can paint whole panels, but blending is for experts :)

Any large holes should be cleaned beveled and patched from both sides or you risk the possibility that the patched area will sink-in down the road. The bigger the beveled area for the patch to attach to, the stronger it will be.

Again, any reputable body shop should be able to do quality fiberglass work. It's not that hard, just dirty, messy labor. If your going to put the car back on the road, and it needs paint, I concur with the others, tackle the body work yourself.
