She's Home! Pic of the New Soft Top...
Finally got the car back after almost a month at the upholstery shop. Got a new soft top, full weatherstrip and new front carpets installed. The guy did a great job. Top is tight with no wrinkles, carpets looke great also. Had him install the new seatbelts for me while the seats were out.
Here's a snap of the top - I wish I took before pictures!
New top completely got rid of the 'old car' mildewy smell I used to have. :) Can also see out the back window!
Bad news is now I'll have to adjust the door glass on both sides for a better fit - which also means new handles and locks while I'm in there. He also found a brake fluid leak dripping into the interior from up under the pedal, where the plunger goes thru the firewall. :cry Guess I'll be busy come spring...

I would have taken interior shots of the carpets but it started to rain and I wanted to get it under cover. I"ll be taking interior shots of the 'before' shortly anyway when I swap in the T/T steering column.
[Checks to make sure wife is not looking over shoulder]
OK, the top was $275. Labor including pads new tack strip and grinding rust/repainting convertible frame was $545. 10 year guarantee against leaks. Not a job I would have tackled even at 2x that price.

Very nice...How much was the top to install??

Do you have Power brakes?
How do you think can the brake fluid go on the inside???
...just wondering.....
The top looks great - my car will receive a glacier white one very soon!
I have it laying around for 2 months now.
We blasted and coated the frame first and now it only has to get warmer!
This is better for installing a top, its softer then will become wrinkle free and it looks more professional then.

Yeah, the top and the carpet needed to be done in a heated environment to mold correctly. I've even read that you should let them sit out in the sun for a while in summer months so they become more pliable.

The top looks great! That rear window looks like..... glass!
Price sounds very reasonable compared to other quotes i have heard. Especially for our part of the world.
I read somewhere... (??) to not even put up/take down soft top if temp is less than 45 degrees because of greater risk of tearing the top.
Looks like a real nice fit in back. Make sure it is not leaving a mark on the paint on the rear deck. MJ
