Default Air Filter Assembly information

I thought the forum members might use this sometime :)

First A=CIDXRPM divided by 25,000, multiply the cubic inch times MAX RPM and divide by 25,000. That will give you the minimum amount of filter area required by your engine.

14 x 3 drop base, Total Height 3.37”, 149 filter area
14 x 4 drop base, Total Height 4.37”, 193 filter area
14 x 5 drop base, Total Height 5.37”, 237 filter area

11 x 3 STD, Total Height 4.62”, 127 filter area
11 x 4 STD, Total Height 5.62”, 161 filter area
11 x 5 STD, Total Height 6.62”, 195 filter area

Default Re: Air Filter Assembly information (mountainmotor)

Wow! A 14x3 will easily provide enough for my little 454. In fact, if I calculated correctly, it will support over 570 c.i. (at 6,500 rpm). I'm kinda' surprised - guess there's really not much need to stack filters like some guys do.
