Default Another distributor Problem.....HELP ME CHOOSE..

Used one I bought Is completely shot.....I still like points...Should I buy a new tach drive points distributor (260bucks) or a new Billet tach drive with MSD box for 410 bucks....I am in a REAL QUANDRY Help

It also looks like I can buy a new main shaft and bushings for the current one that I have for $40..That is one other alternative

Where can you get a tach drive main shaft and bushings for $40? I'm in the same predicament you are in, my main shaft is shot on one end and the bushing is gone. I'm on the verge of junking it and going with a HEI, I have an electronic tach ready to go in, but I'd like to keep my mechanical tach drive, I think it is more accurate.
Another problem is getting the bushing in and reaming it to the correct size for the shaft. Those bushings look like they are pressed in, and I see no way of easily getting them out, without drilling them out.

Keep me informed, if it works out for you, I'll do the same thing! Now all I have to do is get you to send me those parts! :D I haven't been able to find the shaft for less than $65.00. BTW, do you have a part number for the shaft?
