Default The project progresses.....

Just dropped the engine off at the builders. Due back 1 Feb. Scaled back a little due to budget constraints to about 400 hp. Plan is now for:

Use my block. Build a 355 with brandnew balanced Eagle rotating assembly. KB pistons, XE268 cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads (the shop gets them bare and assembles them with Comp Cam springs, Ferrea stainless valves, 3 angle job, bowl porting, and bronze guides) plus new oil pump, pan, balancer, chain, etc. Going for 9.5 compression so I can run pump gas easily (maybe even 89 octane $$)

Cost $3579 with lifetime limited guarantee on labor as well.

Also dropped off driveshaft and halfshafts to get new U-joints as well. Transmission rebuild should be ready end of this week as well as the repaired (rust) core support.

Got new motor mounts, clutch fork (old one had broken spring) and overflow tank (no more ugly yellow). Just need to order the clutch plus some gaskets.

Engine compartment is cleaned and painted already and the PS pump stopped leaking when I tightened a few bolts. :smash:

Should be running by mid Feb and then when the tank is empty, it will be dropped to look for the sticker.
