Default New Water Pump

I need to examine my timing chain. There is a knocking noise coming from somewhere in the engine, and I am getting "pops" out the tail pipe like a stuck valve (I already did a compression check -- no stuck valves, maybe a collapsed lifter?).

So, I am going to be pulling my water pump. I am thinking I should probably replace it with a good high flow one, and am wondering what brands of high flow water pumps others have used. There are lots of companies (edelbrock, Weiand, etc.) who advertise their wares. Which is best, or are they all pretty much the same? How about the Stewart one where they just put new (and presumably improved) parts in an old GM housing?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Where are you looking to get the Stewart water pump from?

I tried the Stewart stage 2, it blew the gaskets three times. Put in a Edelbrock no problems.
