Default Rank the generations of vettes from 1-5

I don't know how to do an on line poll, just curious what you guys thought, what is your favorite gen. and then rank them accordingly. Heres mine.
C-3 the best based on overall brute h.p. and looks
C-4 second best Prod. #'s for high H.P. C-4's seem to be rare, C-4 perf. rox!
C-1 third best, based on a Paul Newman C-4 suspension and LS-6
C-2 fourth best, I like the looks, don't like how loose the cabin sits
C-5 fifth best, prod. #'s through the ceiling, they are awfully tempting though!

Let's see:
1) C-5 Let's face it, they are the best performing vettes yet. Looks arn't too shabby either. :)
2) C-3 I own one of these, so they can't be too bad.
3) C-2 Cool looks. Always a classic.
4) C-4 Good performance, but I don't care as much for their styling - too 80's (mostly interior complaints)
5) C-1 The original, but they were not built that good. Nice to look at though.

My humble opinion.

The easiest way to see how most people rank the generations is to see how much they'll pay to own one. Based on that, the ranks are:
C-2
C-1
C-5
C-4
C-3

Hard to rank them if we do not know what we are ranking them for (performance, drivability, looks, etc) :D but I will give my two cents:

C-5 = Best performing Vette ever
C-3 = Best looking Vette ever
C-2 = A Classic
C-4 = Great Driver
C-1 = Pure History

This truely is an unfair question. :) It's like rating your grandfather and your grandchild. Granddad was about my age when the C-1's came out, but he drove a Plymouth and a farm tractor. Dad didn't seem too caught up with Vettes when I grew up watching Todd and Buz on Route 66, but he understood in his own way the adrenalin rush I got when first I walked around a brand new 68 (Granddad died that year) that my high school coach bought. Dad was proud for me, when I bought that first '74 basket case, but my kids were heartbroken when it was delivered by a wrecker. Dad and the kids all seemed thrilled when I came home sporting a new '84. He only had one word when we took it down I-55 south of St Louis and opened it up. "Awesome" at 145 mph. My 3 girls learned to drive in the 90 Ragtop (Dad died that year) , and they felt I was "cheated" when I had to sell it because of the high insurance on three teenage drivers. Now the girls are grown and gone, but they still come home on weekends to see old Dad (and take his 95 Ragtop for a spin). My real pride and joy sits out in the garage. He's a 1999 model and just loves to help Papa on the Rolling Thunder project '71. His name is Mason, but his Corvetteforum name tag says "Little Rolling Thunder".

The cars are all great, my friends, but it ain't all about the cars. :)

If your just going by personal favorites as the criteria I'd go

C2-the more I'm around them the meaner they look
C3-what a body they have on these things, extra cool when they have something killer under the hood to back it up.
C1-absolute classics, have to love the sports car purity of most of these years
C5-an all around exceptional car, I don't think it has the looks of the previously mentioned but deffinitly a well balanced machine.
C4-Major improvements in handling were made in this generation, looks were so so, do love the clamshell hoods.

Nice replies, thanks a bunch

I was going for whats your fav. overall and also ranking them 1-5 in regards to overall as well. Whoever said its not fair to rank, your right. My wife read this post and said the same thing. SHe said so you won't buy a C-2, cause you rank it last, that means you don't like it. I said no way, that means it is my least favorite of all 5, I LOVE them all and will spend the rest of my life devoted to all generations.
