All Interior Gauge Lights Out, HELP!!!
After going down the road w/ my fiancee the other night, all the gauge lights went out, both driver lights and the center console lights. I haven't had a chance to take a look, but did I blow a fuse, or is it a more complicated wiring problem.
I really need help guys, I'm totally clueless. Have any of you had the same problem?
Thanks!

check the fuse, you wont know if it is more complicated yet, if it blows them as soon as you turn the lights on, finding the short in the dash isnt necesarily complicated...just time consuming.

Sounds like a fuse. On my 80 it is on the first row of fuses. All the way at the top. It was a real bas**** to replace.

The guage lights didn't work in my car when my grandma gave it to me, like the other guys said, it's a fuse. Shouldn't be a very powerful one, either. I actually think I have a couple of spares sitting in my glove box. (Man, I thought the car didn't have interior lights when I got it!!! I was so surprised when my uncle fixed that for me. Thank heaven for the little things, mm?)

If the fuse doesn't fix your problem, it might be your headlight switch has gone bad. This has happened to a few forum members (including me). Good luck.

Here's another thought. Mine didn't work when I bought it so I checked all fuses. They were OK but I replaced them anyway, still they didn't work. Replaced the ehadlight switch and they still didn't work. my electric seat didn't work and had a bad ground. When I repaired the ground, 90% of them came on. Just saying that it might be something other that the light switch and fuses. By the way, the instrument guage fuse is 7.5 amp.

My dash lights have not worked since I bought my vette,
Well, no more flash light for me, It was the printed circuit board on the back side of the light switch.
It was blowing the fuse in about 3 seconds, now there's light :D :D :D
Went for a drive this evening just to enjoy the new view with the gauges lite up for the first time

If it's the fuse, it's the little fuse at the bottom of the fuse panel marked "INST LPS".(INST LPS = INSTRUMENTS LOVE POWER SURGES  )

On mine, the dash light dimmer part of the headlight switch would short out when I turned it. New switch and fuse fixed it.

Re: All Interior Gauge Lights Out, HELP!!! (Vader953)
hehe.... I thought i was the only one who drove with a flash light :D
For over a year My spedo/tach lite up fine, but my center gauges would either have light or gauges work... except for temp. But at night if i wanted to see how much gas i had, i had dim the lights til they were off then the gauges would work again and i used the flashlight to check real quick... It wasn't a to big a concern cause i could still see how fast i was going. Then this past summer one night all the lights went out while i was driving. About 30 mins later they came back on and worked for like a week, then while driving they all went out again...for good...
I know I need the printed circuit board for the center gauges, but i'm not sure what all i need for the headlight switch and how to fix it.
Thanks.
