Default Identify this bracket and win a prize!

Can anyone ID this part?
1969 Coupe
There are two brackets, one left, one right.
I cannot find the part in either my assembly manual or illustrated parts catalog.
I had to hurriedly assemble the car enough to transport it and cannot remember where they go!

The triangular item is a spacer with knurl marks and hooks onto the bracket.
The bracket is about 6" tall and maybe 5" wide.
The 'B's in the picture are very large bolts with the heads facing you.
Sorry for the crude ascii art, it's all I have available at the moment.

Any help greatly appreciated (sorry no prize, that was just an attention getter :jester )

After looking at your drawing for a few minutes, I think you might have better luck calling Miss Cleo. :D Why don't you try drawing it in MS Paint, save it as a .jpg, and then post the pic??

Too bad there's no preview feature!
I was frantically trying to find a way to preserve the spaces all the while knowing someone was trying to decipher that mess...

Miss Cleo helped hoist the body back onto the frame, I can't call on here again

That looks like an A/C bracket. It's cast iron, right?

The bracket is heavy guage stamped steel and appears to be a frame bracket of some sort. The car didn't have A/C. Man, this is really bugging me not being able to remember where it came off of. I took some of this stuff off 5 years ago and put the body back on without needing much help from the manuals. I labelled all fasteners but not large frame brackets and such.

For some reason, I think it belongs up front near the horn extensions or attached to the front body crossmember.

I tried looking for a cross reference for the part number but no luck...

On our cars (bumpers) there is a fairly triangular part that bolts to the front frame horns, sandwitched between the main frame and the long frame extensions that reach toward the front 'corners' of the car to support the bumper. These brackets exist to provide mounting for the sides of the front crossmember that goes in front of the radiator.

Is that it? Lemme try and find a pic...

Jim

That's the part I'm thinking of. I don't remember it looking like that though..

These are the frame extensions:

These are the brackets at the end that connect the extension to the bumper:

Anything look familiar?

Jim

jimduchek-

Dang, I need to get a digital camera and revive my old account so I can post pictures. Those were great!

The bracket in question isn't any of those. I have those you posted already mounted and holding up the front of the car along with the center bumper support that mounts to the forward body crossmember.

I am extremely grateful for your help !!!! You gave me a great idea, I'll scout around the zip web site for them....

Thanks again for everyone's help!

Is the number, 15538693L that you have typed in your stick figure a part number? I have 3 possible ways to figure this out.

1. Hire a hypnotist. If he takes you back 5 years you should remember removing the part and where you got it.

2. Take a picture of the part with a digital camera and post it. There are probably about 10 guys that will be able to identify it that way.

3. If that number is a part number, try the NCRS tech board, and maybe Joe Lucia will see your post. He is the original owner of a 69 and knows or has access to just about every number GM ever put on a part, or so it seems. Good luck! :) MJ

If Mark is right the L on the end usually means it's a left side part. I have a 69 parts manual that I'll check and post again in a few minutes :chevy
