is 37.50 per arm to much money for control arm bushings?
I would like to replace my control arm bushings this weekend and the only shop I know open on a sat or sunday is pepboys, but they want to charge 37.50 for each arm! Can I do this w/o a press? The bushings only cost 3 bucks seems like im getting taken!-Travis

Don't know about the price, but you can do it yourself, w/o a press, if you go with poly bushings.

You can probably get them out with a chisel if you catch the edge and not the control arms lip. Also a hole saw to drill out the rubber bushing would work. Someone on the resto forum burned them out! You have the arms off the car right?

They are not hard to do. I burnt the bushings out and hammered the shell out and replaced the with poly. The only problem I had was a bent bolt on the one control arm.

PEP BOYS !!! They would FIND a way to put them in wrong or ruin the arms. You can do it. Even with a press they are hard to hold and set up. It is setting it up that makes the job difficult. :yesnod:
