Cruise Control Transducer
Mine is working but I believe it may be eating cables, because the previous owner claims to have replaced both speedometer cables.
Short of replacing it ($60 plus core charge, special order) is there any lubrication or maintenance that can be done on this thing?

I also posted a concern about mine and got no response. Autozone has them as you say for $60.00. I put some grease in mine when I took it apart and the speedo did not work for a few days and then it started working fine.

If the transducer is bad, it will 'eat' the lower, transducer to transmission cable, but NOT the transducer to speedometer cable. I replaced mine with a rebuilt unit from Auto Parts store, and it was right at $60 exchange.

Re: Cruise Control Transducer (Neo Fender)
My current transducer, which can't be more than 3 years old, already broke a lower cable. The last time I had it out, I opened it up, but closed it back up quickly without doing anything to it. I don't know how old the design is, but it made me think of something I might find on a Model T :nonod:
Anyway, it still doesn't hold a set speed very well, but it hasn't broken another cable. Personally, I think I'll just go for another rebuilt one someday.
