Funny thing about how everything old is new again. That's how vacuum-operated windshield wipers worked in the old days. The design served two purposes, of course, where the bottom of the diaphram pumped the fuel and the top chamber generated vacuum. Though, having seen these at work, I'm not sure that they'll pull a sufficient vacuum or possibly one you'd be happy with.

I remember reading in an old Hot Rod Magazine or Corvette Fever about using a vacuum pump from an 80s model car.
The make and model escape me, but the article said these car had them and they were inexpensive at the junk yard. I'll try to find the mag and post it.
I have been thinking about it if I go with a larger cam someday.

Ditto jerry72...
I had one of those old cars... the wipers would stop completely when I punched it.
Doesn't generate a whole lot of vacuum. At least, mine didn't....
It sucked, but it didn't suck.
Edit: Vacuum Vacuum Vacuum I will write this 1000 times on the blackboard. I have a mental block against that word.

I ran mine as a vacumn and it only lasted about a month, I think maybe they don't like to run dry.
