I want to order a complete carpet set for my 79..I need front, back, kickpanels,console and door carpets....I also need to find the correct color the trim code I have off the trim plate is 59C...Which I believe is light beige..But can't seem to find it anywhere...Can anyone recomend a good company that sells a complete carpet set that won't have to be trimed..Any help would be appreciated...Thank you

You also might want to talk to Tom Dewitt at dewitts. I bought a rear compartment cover when he wa giving us a deal on the forum. I emailed him and he gave me a great price on 82 CE carpet, whole set, ACC carpet http://www.dewitts.com

My vote is for Gary Gruhala Enterprises. I ordered the carpet for my 76 from him, it was ACC and the fit was just about perfect. It needed minor trimming but better a bit long then short. Almost all the vendors carry Auto Custom Carpet (ACC). They are the largest manufac. of replacement carpet. You will have to trim any carpet set you get... how much depends on their quality control at the time. A few guys have purchased quality bulk carpeting, and formed/cut their own at significant savings. I purchased ACC from Riks, cause at the time they were the cheapest. I was very happy with the fit, but it could have been better quality.

ANY carpet set you get will require some trimming. Albeit minor.
Auto Custom Carpets are fine unless you are looking for perfect restoration quality IMO. I have an ACC carpet and it looks terrific, frankly I cant tell the difference but I've been told by others that it isnt quite good enough for high quality restoration. i.e. NCRS stuff.

Shop it around , since just about everybody sells the same stuff, you can do alot of pricing.

I called zip today and they tell me the rear carpet comes in several pieces..The one I removed from the rear of my 79 was one molded piece..from under the sun screen up over the wheel wells and down behind the seats..Which is the correct setup..One piece or one center piece and 2 wheel well pieces..Im getting confused now:crazy: ...Is the 78 interior the same as the 79...By the way shark...Nice set of wheels

The rear carpet should be ONE PIECE...as you described exactly. If you have a Corvette Central, Ecklers, or Mid-America catalogue, you can see a picture of what it looks like. There are two small pieces that are separate from this rear piece (but those are only to cover the speakers and on the door panels for the rear compartments)...otherwise, it's one big piece that snaps in the back under the shaed and along the sides of the doors.

The 79 carpet set should be identical to the 78 (except for the rear compartment doors...78's have 3 doors and I believe only early 79's also have 3 doors)...

You guys need to check w/ Corvettecentral & see who makes theirs. There was a topic a while back & I said mine was great from a certain supplier. Someone e-mailed me that as I recall Corvettecentral was the place to get it.
So I had to change my post & post that maybe the supplier had changed where I got mine & finally got him to post.
