Lets give away corvette parts!!!!!!
Ok
To all the corvette forum members,as you know all of us has some old parts that we have taken off our car ,and have no intention on ever using that part again,so it just sits in the corner of our garage or basement, and collects dust. My friends if you have something like that ,and it isnt worth much money put it on this forum as a free item, just have the other member pay for the shipping.
I have given away a set of old strut rods, and a set of trim rings that both was worn ,but I didnt want to throw them away cause so I put them on this forum, and gave them to other members, all I asked that they pay for shipping.I must tell you that I did send both these items to our members , and I wasnt worried about getting my postage back, but I did. I just had this idea about how you can get rid of old stuff you will never use again!!!!!
I see that there is a few guys that got burned on this forum for things they sold ,and hopefully the will get thier money.
everybody have a good week Bill B

Bill,
I applaud your initiative but you do not seem to have many takers. And that is a shame as we all have many parts that are just sitting in the garage or basement. And will never be used in the next xx years. Many Corvette newbee's on a limited budget might make very good use of those parts that are now gathering dust. We are a Corvette community after all. So I will start it off. Here are windshield repro post trims for a 1979 that I will never use again. They are basically new but did not fit to my satisfaction. Pay the shipping and they belong to a new owner! I can take a better pic but the price is right. E-mail if you wish.

I got a couple of small parts, if anyone is interested: a set of poly strut rod bushings (small diameter style - pre '75?) and a set of camber bolts. Both are new, but I don't need them since I converted to adjustable rods.

I think this is a great idea. I am going to look at home and see what I can offer. To Paul79- I have buckskin interior looks pretty close to the color of those winshield post trim pieces and mine need replacement. Do you know would they fit a 76?

Sounds like a great idea..I would look for members with a long history on the forum or a pretty high post count(to keep the riff raft away) Man this place is great...

Great idea, hopefully most of the free items that are offered, are actually used by the person requesting them...
As a newby, I would love to have the chance at something free :D , I would not only gain a part for the right price but would be happy to gain a new CF friend along with the deal...
Hopefully later on I will be able to offer something free to another member...

If you have a computer controlled QJet I've got a few parts here and there. Also have a set of CH secondary rods. (Not that popular...they're emissions friendly.)

That is a great idea, but since I'm one of the newbies here, I haven't amassed any spare parts, but I'm sure that will change.

Re: Lets give away corvette parts!!!!!! (daily_driver)
Ive got a couple things at home.....off the top of my head...
if ya want something email me at mailto:cdaniel525@aol.com and we will work out the shipping
key lock for factory alarm - brand new with keys....for the type that mounts in the front drivers side fender
invisible mud flap - they clip on somehow with these special clip povided. I never used them or ever will, but IMHO they are ugly!! but your for free!
L82 or L88 original emblems for the hood. need some cleaning but are original...ill let ya know which they are this weekend
Stingray emblems for the fender....i know the nipples are brocken off, but were only on the car for a little bit and with some kind of adhesive will look fine
stock pulleys - off of 74 SB (crank and water pump)
air cleaner top for dual snorkle design - painted black
fan - i know it fits on a 3/4 pilot hub water pump/fan clutch setup....most likely a heavy duty fan clutch since the bolt pattern was different than a normal.
there might be more, but ill check this weekend

Re: Lets give away corvette parts!!!!!! (Bills79)
I have some parts laying around and would be glad to help, but I live in Germany and all the parts are located there......
Does anyone of you have a passenger dash panel layin around?
I participate in vintage car events, orientation ralleys, and want to convert a panel like this to hold maps and so on.
I don t want to sacrifice or modifz my original 68 dash and a ugly cracked piece would be fine for me - anybody ???

Re: Lets give away corvette parts!!!!!! (75stinger)
Pretty good idea... I've given away a trailer hitch and a set of trim rings here in the past. Both times somebody was looking to buy the item. I didn't need them and they weren't really worth that much.
I've got a 76 rear end cover with all the ears on it, if somebody needs it.

Re: Lets give away corvette parts!!!!!! (Bills79)
Bill,
Thanks for the trim rings! It's great to see that some people know what this hobby is all about.
BTW-- I mailed out the shipping check yesterday, don't flame me yet.

My house is for sale and everything not needed is in storage. As soon as I sell this place I'll see what I have and post it. It's been on the market for 10 months so something has to give.

Re: Lets give away corvette parts!!!!!! (Big Block 60)
I think this is an excellent idea and I will compile a list of my freebies this evening. When I bought my Corvette from the original owner he shipped me 3 boxes of parts which he had replaced at some point or another. I think I have every original part he ever replaced
