Default Ten Commandments For Corvette Owners

Thou shalt not loan thy Vette to anyone.
Thou shalt not bring thy Vette to an automatic car wash.
Thou shalt not fail to wave to a fellow Vette owner.
Thou shalt not swear at thy Vette, for it is tempermental.
Thou shalt not cruise on unpaved roads.
Thou shalt not pass another Vette owner in distress.
Thou shalt not feed thy Vette with budget grade fuel.
Thou shalt not expose thy Vette to severe weather conditions.
Thou shalt not forget to activate the alarm system.
Thou shalt not acknowledge a Honda or Mitsu as being true sports cars.

I disagree on the 10th commandment. Having had a roommate with some serious Mitsu power, anyway. I always thoroughly enjoyed getting a chance to drive his Ecplise GSX or later, after he sold that, the 3000GT VR4.

The Ecplise GSX is a first or second gen eclipse (they are on 3rd gen now, but no more GSX :( ) with a turbo'd 4 cyl and AWD. His had about 300 horse. (minor mods) The 3000GT VR4 is a 3.0L, twin-turbo, AWD, all-wheel steering monster of a car, his had about 400 horse. To put either of those cars on the same level as ANY Honda is sacrilege in my book -- both cars are half Mopar anyway (the Eagle Talon TSi and the Dodge Stealth TT are the Mopar versions of these cars) At any rate, these cars are TIGHT and despite the fact that I am pretty insanely pro-American (I have to quit smoking because I promised my lady that I would if she bought an American car for her next one -- and she bought a Saturn, great, I think that's kinda cheating, but hey), I always enjoyed driving both of those cars when I got a chance, and both cars were SOLID performers.

At any rate, my $0.02. Save the wave :)

I had a GSX myself, but still consider ALL TEN of these gospel! POWER DOTH NOT MAKE A SPORTS CAR BE!

I've broken numbers 4 and 9 many times, and 5 a few times. Guess I'm going to CorvetteHell, with all those tailgating SUV's, lemming-mobiles, and "cute" "sports cars" such as the BMW Z3s and Mercedes "KompRRRessor" (<--read with strong German accent). :jester

uh oh ! :bb

Thou shalt not acknowledge a Honda or Mitsu as being true sports cars
my lil' lady has a '00 eclipse, silver and tinted, but hey, she bought it before everyone else or the commercials were around...another note...she bought it on her own and was very proud.... (now I laugh as she has had like 6 recalls on it)

must admit...it is very nice and quick (V6 now in the 3rdG) and the wannabe clutchless stick feature is rather neat....you can redline the damn thing in EVERY gear....trust me....I know...(shhh,....she doesnt) !! :jester

o yeah....but hey...whatever keeps her from taking the 'vette is fine with me. :yesnod:

I'm afraid of number 9, I don't think it has been turned on in 28 years, probably a remote fire starting system by now.

Ah, #4 is hard to keep. Just remember that she's old. A 20 year old car is something like 140 in dog years, er I mean car years!! :jester

Don't swear AT her. If you go in the other room you can express your frustration with the situation, but it's not her fault. :D

Thou shall not swear about thy Vette, for it has feelings also...

Take it from me... don’t try to “sell” another manufacturer to this crowd.
