Default Flex Fan

I have a bad fan clutch and was thinking about replacing the fan with a flex fan. Has anyone done this? Is the temperature effected?

I am just looking for pro's and con's.

Some are rather heavy. They drag all the time whereas the fan clutch should free wheel when the engine is cool.

I have never seen it but have heard stories of them coming apart and tearing up the hood.

I run a flex fan, it offers exceptional cooling capabilities. The negatives are: it's spining whenever the engine is running therefore it takes a long time for the engine to reach operating temperature. Also as mentioned, it is a constant drain on H.P. for the same reason. :seeya
