L98 injection on a C3?
Someone just mentioned it in one of my other topics... I have seen it done, but want to know more about it. I didn't see anything in Ecklers or in archives :( .
Just buy the intake and drop it in? And computer? Cost for parts?
THis would possibly be for an 80-81 C3....if I ever buy one  :seeya

Call all the speed shops and ask, get good freebee information, but don't forget you can do the swap for about 700 bucks with junkyard parts yourself....IF you can do wiring, if you can't....find a club buddy that can..maybe he won't charge too much....

Not a big deal. I went with the S & P kit, but if I did it over again I would have bought the complete motor harness and all. The system requires only the injection unit, harness, ECM, high pressure fuel pump, a cam with no more than 224 duration at .50. You will only hook up four wires to your existing harness: battery, ground, ignition, and fuel pump. Everything else is stand alone.
Advanages
Tons of torque
I always start on the first crank regardless of how long it sits.
Lots of cool factor
21+ miles to the gallon w/o overdrive
Easy diagnostic
Dis-advantages:
Expensive parts
Limited fresh air intake
Nothing above 5000 rpms
Good luck

Wait  about $700 or expensive? As for wiring, I would prefer something I can plug and go, no making my own wiring harness or advanced electrical issues. :nono:
So, put in the new injection (top/bottom manifold), mass air, etc. , wiring harness, computer, and new fuel pump...? Oh, someone said new cam and / or gears? How about tranny, can stay with the TH350?

Well first off, no mass air sensor, using a MAP type system, and with a decent chip is just as good, saves wiring/plumbing issues on induction...
air cleaner is most allways a K/N conical thing over the air valve....
I did mine with serp drive a-la '88 vette, changed a/c compressor also...
used air pump eliminator kit, my sig file pix are somewhat dated...
I had mounted the O2 sensor in the air flapper valve block on the pass side of the rams horn iron manifolds...
did my own wiring, but if you want to spend themoney, do right ahead....
but I did a GM computer much cheaper at ten bucks from a junkyard hell pick up 3 of them at that price....;-)))

Re: L98 injection on a C3? (Ganey)
Ganey, I hear you, and you are correct on that restrictive comment, BUT compared to a stock carb induction system, a stock L98 injection system is head and shoulder above that in operational charactoristics, on an otherwise completely stock vette engine....
now, having said that, on my replacement engine, it's a 355 built forged flat top pistons with Edel heads/large induction....still L98 style and a ZZ9 cam headers....so it's a mild hotrod....which went in with the O/drive tranny 700r4 as a unit install.....
I think on a stock engine/tranny the L98 is SO far superior to any carb setup that there is just NO comparison...period...for a street car now...not some 12 second machine with cam up the butt....
