I have been removing an aftermarket alarm system that Bubba installed and does not work. Wires spliced everywhere. The original alarm is not working either. Trying to use the black and white schematics is difficult . Is there something better to tell me how the wiring should have looked.

Any help would be appreciated.

1st thing i would check is the two relays in the passenger side compartment behind the seats..

this would be the "smart" way to disable the stock alarm system...

if you say this guy is bubba, then he prolly hacked it all up???

If I disconnect the alarm wires from the two relays in the compartment, will that have any impact on starting? Did the original alarm have a starter disconnect or did it just go off when the doors or hood were opened?

ive got a 76....

havent looked at your 70-72 alarm system, but if my 76 didnt have a starter disconnect then neither does your 70-72!!!

it consisted of door pins, hood pin. if the alarm key was turned on and the door pin was tripped, then the alarm horn would be sounded....

to disable the system, either turn the alarm key to the "off" position, or pull both relays in the rear passenger compartment behind the seats...


if you have a starter disconnect installed then someone musta bubba'd together an aftermarket alarm and if you want to get back to stock, then you have no choice but to buddy upto that wiring diagram and i would start at those 2 relay points, and do continuity checks to all the wires that come outta them...

those relays are really the "brains" of the alarm, if you will :lol: :lol:

when i say continuity checks, i mean tracing the wires to their respective origins as dictated on the wiring diagram..... thus making sure everything is connected!!!

since door pins just give ground, for him to splice into that system wouldnt necessarily require him to disable the old one!! he coulda just pulled the 2 old relays and installed the new system without distrubring the old one...

at least thats what i would do...
