Default Ignition Buzzers - Which Model is NOT Annoying?

I really hate to twist the key on with the door open because of that really annoying buzzzzzzzzz. Anybody changed to a different buzzer? I seem to recall that more expensive the car back then, the nicer the sound - like in a Cadilac it was sort of a soft ding-ding-ding - These days you should be able to get the soft female voice saying doorajar-doorajar-doorajar or anything better than bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I hang out here way too much... I went out for a nice little vette drive and I suspected that zwede would be the kind of person to respond to such a post - but I did not expect that paticular answer!

LOL, I was going to post that you just disconnect it. Mine has been disconnected for years due to a battery drain. Didn't even have to cut the wire, it has a slip on connector. :)

They are ALL annoying. The buzzer is hanging behind the dash near the tach in my 75. I simply laid down under the steering column while the key was in the ignition and with a flashlight located the 1" square 1/4" thick black box and unplugged it.

I wish mine buzzed period. I can't find where it's disconnected and can't figure out what is supposed to buzz? I think on the 69 the buzzer was supposed to be inside the horn relay, well I've had the relay apart and couldn't find any buzzing mechanism. Of course bubba could have been here and replaced the relay with a nuetered one.

I like the factory buzzer on my 79. I've never heard one that pitch in any other vehicle.
