Who has a stinger hood on their car?
What's the members name? I would like to see what it looks like. I saw him post before but i didn't get his name and now I can't find it again.

xfactor974.....Me too! Got mine from Ecklers as well.
bluevette...the hood is complete. comes ready to bolt on..just have to add the ''hardware''.

Lakota, haven`t heard about the progress on the car in a while. What is going on there.
BTW, I like the stinger hood on 79ers ride, looks nice. You guys keep up the good work.

Not much progress lately. couple of reasons.
first..busy busy at work..just NO spare time!!
second..Christmas! :lol:
third..been too COLD to do any fiberglass work!! (Don't have a garage..just an open carport.)
Have been working on some ''little things'' that needed done..Stuff you can't ''see''.
As soon as the weather warms up again..will be back at it.
Still haven't quite decided on what to do with the back yet. Definitely want the Later model C4 lites but....not quite sure whether to go with the C4 style bumper or modify the C3 style to accomodate. Will probably decide when the time comes! :lol:
But first got to get the ZL-1 flares on!!

I was wondering if the stinger hood provided additional hood clearance if I wanted to run a taller manifold. Current plans are for a 383 w/Vortec heads, Air Gap Vortec manifold, Demon carb. I'd like to run an open element aircleaner, but know it won't fit under stock without airflow problems. I love the stinger hood look! Any help would be much appreciated. BTW, this is my first posting after discovering the forum two weeks ago, thanks!

79er, I am intrigued by your set-up. I saw another picture of the underhood of your car on another post and have been entertaining a similar plan for some time now, wondering how I could pull something like that off. Can you give some more details on the intake, carb, and what aircleaner setup you are running? Maybe other photos? I said in my prior post I was going to run an Air gap,forgot to mention it would be the RPM Air Gap Vortec. As you probably guessed, I have been laboring over the hood clearance and airflow issue (as by looking through past posts seems to be a major concern for other C3'ers as well). I am about 100% sure I will go with the stinger hood, both for clearance and looks (yours just looks killer), but how I choose my camshaft will be a result of what maniold I can get away with under the hood. I really want to run the RPM manifold. I like the set-up you have and would like to know more info, please. Thanks!
