Faster than my 82. Faster than a C5? NO!
I think they are in the lower 6 seconds 0-60. My moded 82 is in the higher 6's. So, I surprise alot of those yuppie muffins.

tell you what a sc400 is a pricy car and its new let it run for 20-30 years and we see how fast it will be. second thing if you have the same amount of money to buy and put into a C3 as much as a Lexus cost, well then your c3 will be faster then even a new c5.(also are you comparing a Auto transmition vette to a Auto transmition sc400 ) because that c3 vette transmtion is slow and old compare to the latest computerized transmition of new cars :chevy

I'm talking stock to stock lets say '92 vs 92. I know a modified corvette can beat a Lexus just like a modified Lexus can beat a stock Vette.
They have the same mods for Lexus's as they do for Vettes. i.e. Turbo units, Intakes, exaust, chips, cams ect. Lets just say stock vs stock.
Has any one raced stock?

Stock to stock a 92 LT1 would own a 92 SC400. I've driven a 92 LT1, automatic w/ G-92, and a 93 SC400.
The SC400 was "comparable" to my 'vette in acceleration pull. The LT1 was anything but. 340 hp out of a 93 SC400? Try <250. Lexus didn't go nuts with their V8s until much later.

IMO lexus is just a high priced toyota.I drove one and was not impressed at all.The owner had an 89 C-4 and he thought the Lexus was so much better.Well to each his own.For the price I would definitely have a C-5 and blow the doors off a stinking lexus and have a whole lot more style doing it.
