Default Brake Master Cylinder Vacuum Leak???? What the heck???

Guys, car started ideling rough a couple of days ago. Checked it out today and find that I have a vacuum leak coming from the bottom of my master cylinder. There seems to be a little hole that's drilled right under the bottom edge of the cyclinder where it bolts to the power booster. I've never noticed this before!! Is this "supposed" to be there??? Or do I really have a booster leak that is just coming from this hole??? As soon as I plug it with my finger, the car smoothes right out!!!

I would say the diaphram in your booster is shot. The air has to be sucked in somewhere so this is where it is coming from. Had a Z28 that idled poorly and this was the culprit. New booster and it smoothed out.
