Motor to 700r4 tranny?????????
What all Motors will hook up to a 700r4? and what years are the best for HP. I have a newly Rebuilt 700r4 so i would like to find a good motor for power.

I'm currently doing a 383 motor swap and have a 700r4 already installed. The main problem is that if you go too big on HP the 700r4 might not handle the power. Talk to George Kull(gkull), Monty, or some of the guys who have done the big HP motor swaps already. Or check these guys out, http://www.700r4.com/ . Art Carr is another to talk to.

Well I guess it depends on your fuel, fuel economy desires, and driving purpose for ownership....
drag only....biggest high compression race gas only mutta you can afford...
street strip....seems to be a 383 very popular these days, takes all affordable DPFI computer injection these days without breaking the bank...
and the fuel and fuel economy ain't all that bad either....nice if you drive it everyday....
adding Nitrous....NO2, etc, and/or forced air induction...turbo's, blowers, etc...can get super expensive real quick....see afford???
personally, even though the increased torque of a 383 is desirable, I still think of my engine builder's comments on that 383 some years ago....his comment was why not just build a super torquey 350 and be done with it??
considering COST here.....much less parts....
so I stay with my 350, and have don'e with it at 400+ ft lbs....
