Re: question about heads (Tominator)
I'll give it a shot. Your 81 heads are straight plugs. The angled plug heads(like my trick flows) direct the flame to improve the combustion which in turn increases performance. Most of the headers will clear, just might need a little "Tweaking".

Re: question about heads (gravismaximus)
what about heads for a '73 L48 are they do they take straight or angled plugs?
and yes.... I feel a little stupid asking to but it is better to learn than to pretend that I am smarter than I actually am :bb

Re: question about heads (HFP073)
All are straight plugs, I believe they angled the plugs to clear headers, in
doing so they noticed a slight improvment in performance. This was because the "flame" from the plug was now closer to the intake valve. Nothing new here
because if yu move the straight plug closer to the intake you will get the same small increase in performance. :D
