If your refering to the 1pc oil pan gasket, I did not use any. These are suppose to be reusable.

Putting in the corners where it meets the main cap is best. Big enough Dab so it can be spread with the finger and have enough surface contact to stay there and not fall into the oil pan . Dime size :)

I just finished putting one on mine. I got it from Ecklers. The kit comes with 4 alignment studs for the corners. When you push the pan up the lugs on the pins hold it in place for you to start the other bolts. The alignment bolts turn back out and then you can put the 4 corner bolts in and torque them all. The kit comes with new bolts which are slightly longer than the original ones as the gasket is quite thick.

Go to any auto parts store and get it by FEL-PRO. On my '75 the part number is OS-34510-T (this is the kit). I was told by the counter guy that it's for 75-85 SBC, but I take all info from them guys with a "grain-of-salt".

Yep, felpro, got my from Auto Zone, for my small block, around $30, and I followed the instructions and still have a small leak at front by lower front main where the pan curves. Wish I'd have used some RTV at this area as well. My leak there could be due to a nick in the oil pan that I didn't catch, but even though I have a small leak, more like a seep, I really do like this one piece gasket felpro has, makes installation a snap.

Actually the oil pan gasket may not be leaking. It could be coming from the timing chain cover/seal.....

I've checked and the leak/seep is not coming from above and runnig down, it's right at the bottom part of the curve in the pan. No oil above, it just seeps out of this area.
