Ladder fell on my hood!
Came home from work last night and the maid crew had left a ladder against some boxes in front of my car spot. Of course I bumped the ladder and it slowly started to fall toward me. Hit reverse and tried to back our fast as I could without scraping the driver door on the garage door wall. Ladder (wood) still fell onto hood and left what looked like 5 or 6 long gashes in paint. But, guess what! A little Body Scrub (polish like paint cleaner) and the scratches turned out to just be old paint on ladder itself. Not a scratch in the hood afterall.
Think I will drive in slower from now on.

phew!
I had some tools hanging on a pegboard in my garage. One of the anchors from the pegboard to the wall released. I immediately pulled all the tools off. I had visions of the whole thing falling on my hood.

Wow are you lucky! I had a 4" flourescent light bulb fall out of its fixture and directy onto my hood last winter (and, of course, it was 1 day after my wife was nagging me to put the car cover back on :mad ) I had to have the whole hood and surrounding fenders repainted. Glad you're wasn't as bad!

Ever since a metal shelf(yeah, the hole damn thing and everthing on it!!!:cry ) fell on my vette during the major earthquake here in 1989, I park it on the side of the garage where there is nothing that can fall. I keep all tool boxes, work bench, shelf, etc.... on the other side of the garage. And just in case that is not enough, I cover the car with 1 flanel car cover, 2 old comforters, 1 blanket, and 2 sleeping bags. Getting the car out and putting it away is not a fast process anymore, but I figure the hole house is gonna have to collapse down on it before it gets scratched again. :)

Whew...close call. Hearing this makes me think more about securing my garage cabinets to the walls with another few boxes of 6" wood screws...
