Default My 393 buildup (pics inside)

I've been breaking in my 393LTx for the past few days so here are the details of the motor and the car:

Shortblock:

Built by Muscle Machining in Toronto Ontario

Forged 393 CI:

JE Flat Tops 4.040
Eagle H-Beam 5.85 rods
Eagle 4340 3.750 crank offset ground to 3.830"
0-deck
billet splayed caps
11.2:1 CR
Custom Comps Cam 236/242 .590/.576 112LSA
AFR 195 65cc Eliminator Comp port #1095
T&D Shaft Rockers 1.7/1.6
Ported Edelbrock LT4 intake
58mm Holley TB
42lb Lucas injectors
Be Cool rad 160stat
MSD Optispark/coil/wires
MSD Digital 6 ( yes I plan on spraying )
NGKs FR5
Meizer Electric Water Pump
Exotic Muscle 1 3/4 headers
Corsa Catback 2.5 inch
ARP bolts
Innovative LC-1 Wideband
Home made ram air
PCMFORLESS tune
Spec stage 3+ Clutch/aluminum flywheel
B+M short throw shifter
Car Creations BatWing and Dana44 3.73 gears
spicer u-joints
BFG DRs 315/35/17s full time on chrome ZR-1 replicas

So far my initial impressions are, I can't believe what a balanced setup this is. It pulls VERY hard at every RPM and at all speeds. I love this head and cam combo mainly for the fact that it achieved what I wanted which was a strong running car at ALL RPMs, not a top end car with a mushy throttle under 4000RPM, and not a bottom end car that stops pulling at the 1/8th mile. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for the same.

How much power is she making? What will the trap speeds be? I should find out hopefully in a few weeks.

I know SOTP is not an accurate way to measure it but it easily feels stronger than any stock C6 Z06 I have driven even though I'm still running Alvin's base tune. If it is or not remains to be seen but so far, I am freakin' lovin' it!!!

P.S. Hey Ricky!! Hurry up with your car so I can come up to Barrie and kick your butt!!

I almost forgot to mention. I grabbed a temp switch that closes at 200*F and installed it into the driver side head wired up to an autometer pro light in my left vent. Any issues of cooling and I'll know way before it can do any damage.

I highly recommend this especially for electric water pump users.

I love it!!
Makes you want to pull up a lawn chair behind it and listen to that idle til you croak from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Nice job, obviously youve thrown a lot of work at it. Cant wait to hear more on this.

I remember when I first bought my Vette after driving a big block Olds Cutlass for 10 years. I loved it and was very happy but I still missed that thumping camshaft sound..........not no more!!

I must admit though, the heads did not flow as advertised.....they flowed more!!

Intake

.200....155
.300....209
.400....257
.500....288
.550....299
.600....305

Exhaust

.200....128
.300....171
.400....207
.500....230
.600....238

For those people counting, thats 2 CFM more than Ricks heads flowed!!!

What heads flow more than the manufacturers claim? BTW, those dry flow numbers mean nothing... and you are a leg humper!

[Ricky]You didn't get a Miniram, not a 421, "Eagle sucks" , so power is being left on the table[/Ricky]

Just bustin' on ya Rick.

By the way, that car sounds like it'll tear a hole in the pavement. Nice!!
