What kind of rear-end did the ZL1 have?
I was just sitting here wondering what rear-end they put in it. With the motor pushing that much power I'm sure they probably went with some sort of beefed up rear. Or were they able to get the stock rear-end to handle it somehow?

Was it a Ford 9 inch?

They used the same rear as was standard with anyother big block. Standard rear end with capped (rather than U-bolt) u-joints.
