Default Vengeance Racing 08 LS3 C6 goes 503/449 Stage II LS3 Cam/TEA Stage I LS3 Heads!!!

Im sure some of you remember my write up on our 08 C6 Shop Car. We baselined the car, added American Racing Catted Longtubes/VaraRam/Vengeance Racing Custom Programming.

End Result was 425/425....

Well the next round of mods consist of the following:

Vengeance Racing Stage II Custom Camshaft
Comp 7.400 Hardened Pushrods
TEA/TrickFlow Stage I CNC LS3 Cylinder Heads
GM MLS Head Gaskets
ARP Head Bolts ( We plan on spraying this combo in the NEAR future)

We worked exclusively with TEA to develop a "budget head" that WOULD PERFORM well without breaking the bank. End Result is a cylinder head that retails for 1399.00 and has shown a LEGIT gain of 28RWHP.

The TEA Stage I head consists of CNCd Intake & Exhaust Ports/Competition Multi Angle Valve Job/TEA Dual Gold Spring Kit rated @ .650 lift/Ti Retainers/New Seats/Seals/Milling to customer spec (.010 in our case)

These cylinder heads produced almost 30 additional rwhp over our cam only #s!!!! We have a couple dozen LS3s making 475/430... These heads took us to 503/449!!!!!

Here is the graph from our bolt on results to the Heads/Cam Results.

I will post an idle/drivability clip as soon as the rain clears. Our C6 only has 566 miles on it so we are still trying to keep it clean

Complete list of modifications to achieve the #s above:

VaraRam C6 Induction
Vengeance Racing Ported Throttlebody
American Racing 1 7/8 Longtubes with 3x3 CATTED X pipe
MagnaFlow 3" Catback
Vengeance Racing Stage II LS3 Camshaft
TEA/TFS Stage I CNC LS3 Cylinder Heads
GM MLS Head Gaskets
ARP Head Bolts
180* Thermostat
Custom Programming by Vengeance Racing.

STOCK INTAKE
STOCK HEAVY CLUTCH
STOCK PULLEY
STOCK WHEELS/TIRES
STOCK WATERPUMP

Ill double check the specs with Mike on this one... I THOUGHT it was a 235, I could be wrong.

I applaud you sharing the specs of the cam and assume you're in the camp that your reputation keeps your customers here and doesnt send them up the street thinking that since you gave out the specs that they no longer have a use for you.

I have one question for you. Why such a big split? Once ported the intake/exhaust flow ratio is the same as any other head. I am aware that so many people think that since the exhaust side flow number isnt impressive looking as the intake side, some think long exhaust duration helps the power but all I see it doing is making more overlap. A friend of mine just used a 234/238 114+2 and it makes power everywhere and peaked over 500rwhp. Once ported, the exhaust side is up 230+cfm and isnt lagging in relation to the intake side.

Any input?

If not, great job on a streetable package making great power.

The cam does have a big split I did it this way because I will run a BIG SHOT on my car in the 300 plus range to start. This car will also get a big motor next and I will probably not touch the cam or heads and that is why I did not mill them to up the compression a bunch. This car is a experiment nothing more.

Where is Mike M or Jimmy Z I know one of them needs a set for a good A-B stage I or II cam with heads Come on boys I have new castings who should I send them out for?? .

Hey Ron, are these ready to ship? Can you post any pics?

Ron or Mike, running these heads on my LS2 with your Stage 1 LS3 cam (already installed), how much would I be able to mill them safely? I only want to buy one set of heads for the current 6.0 now and later swap to the 402-427 I will be installing.
